Section 5901.03 (H) – Duties of Commissioners

Establishing regularly scheduled transportation for veterans to and from veterans administration medical centers whose districts the county is within, through contractual agreements or through other arrangements determined by the commission to be most cost-effective.

The Fairfield County Veterans Service Commission cannot transport ambulatory patients.

Our driver will adhere to all highway rules, regulations, and speed limits. Treat all veterans with courtesy and respect, and direct or help the first time veteran to their respective clinics at the VA Medical Center. We will assist all veterans in and out of the van, not by lifting, but by providing a steady hand for support. Caregivers are welcome and encouraged to ride along if needed to attend to the needs of the veteran.
