SERVICE DEPARTMENT

The Veterans Service Commission Office has two (2) Service Officers, certified and trained by the Governors Office of Veterans Affairs, who assist veterans and their families to apply for any benefits to which they may be entitled.

These services are without charge and the officer shall not be liable for any errors that may possibly occur as much of the information is supplied by the client. Obtain more information by continuing to the claims page.rO

 FINANCIAL HELP

This office has temporary emergency financial aid for Fairfield County veterans and their dependents who have met with an unexpected hardship as a result of sickness, injury or disease, lack of employment, or unable to find adequate employment. Obtain more information by continuing to the financial assistance page.

 TRANSPORTATION

The Veterans Service Commission Office will provide transportation to and from your medical appointments at various V.A. Medical appointments if you cannot transport yourself for financial or health reasons. Obtain more information by continuing to the transportation page.

CEMETERY FLAG HOLDERS

The Veterans Service Commission supplies the Flag Holders and flags to decorate veterans’ graves at Memorial Day. If a holder is missing from a veteran’s grave, the family can get a replacement from the Veterans Service Commission Office.
