Departments of Defense, Labor and Veterans Affairs developed the National Resource Directory. You can find it at www.nationalresourcedirectory.org. It will be going live on November 17.
The National Resource Directory is a web-based “yellow book” for wounded, ill and injured service members, veterans, their families and those who support them.
The Directory provides over 10,000 services and resources available through governmental and non-governmental organizations to support recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
The National Resource Directory is organized into six major categories:
· Benefits and Compensation
· Education, Training and Employment
· Family and Caregiver Support
· Health
· Housing and Transportation
· Services and Resources.
All information can be found easily through browsing or a general or state and local search tool. Other features include:
· checklists
· Frequently Asked Questions
· information on the Wounded Warrior Resource Center call center (a centralized toll free phone number that wounded warriors, families and caregivers can call at any time to get help from trained professionals. 1-800-342-9647 or wwrc@militaryonesource.com)
· accessibility to people with disabilities (508 compliant)
